ArtSociates Lawangwangi

Founded in 2007, ArtSociates Lawangwangi is established to provide a facility for young and talented artists through a tight selection. Many famous local artists ever held exhibitions here are Agus Suwage, A.D. Pirous, Tisna Sanjaya, A.T. Sitompul, and many more.

Museum Barli

A painting gallery and museum established in 1992, Museum Barli exhibits mainly paintings of Barli Sasmitawinata (1921-2007) and his son Agung. After coming back from his art studies in the Netherlands and France in 1950s, Barli spent some of his time teaching in Bandung. He received a medal of art from the government of Indonesia in 2000. Barli's paintings are predominantly influenced by daily life.

Museum Barli is also often used for fine art exhibitions, selling art works, discussion and artists gathering, training and workshop. One of their workshops is the fine art course for kids and adults. The course fee for painting is Rp. 400,000/month per adult and Rp. 300,000/month for kids (frequency of lessons: 4 times a month). While the works of art of Barli are displayed on 2nd and 3rd floor.

How to get there: By angkot: from Jalan Merdeka take the one that goes to Ledeng and get off in Karangsetra (fare: Rp. 2,500, 15 minute-journey). From Karangsetra, take the one that goes to Sarijadi and get off at Indomaret (a small supermarket), near Jalan Cipedes Tengah (fare: Rp. 1,500 for a 5 minute journey). From Jalan Cipedes Tengah, you can walk to Museum Barli
From NuArt Sclupture Park: take a “ojek” (motorcycle taxi) to Museum Barli (fare: Rp. 10,000 for a 7-minute journey)
Remarks:lately Museum Barli is often closed if there is no visitors. Before you visit Museum Barli, please contact Mr. Agung for making an appointment. There will be no art activities for one year ahead, except some workshops. Cash payment only.

NuArta Sculpture Park

This is a gallery of Nyoman Nuarta's sculptures and pictures, a Balinese artist who lives in Bandung and is famous for many sculpture works, including Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali. He is currently doing another spectacular project, a 60 meter [197 feet] high Noah statue in Tapanuli (near Medan), North Sumatera.

NuArta Sculpture Park, which is located in the northern part of Bandung, was first opened to the public in 2000. The sculpture park occupies a 3 hectare site that is created also for artists, designers and art lovers to meet, discuss and do many other art related activities.

Visitors can also make their own sculptures, paintings, batik and so on. A special arrangement can be made for this special short course, with a minimum guest of 3 persons. This course will be guided by NuArta’s professional staff.

NuArta Sculpture Park also has a café, called N café, that has indoor and outdoor settings. Its signature dishes are Balinese Bebek Crispy or Crispy Duck and Nasi Campur.

Selasar Sunaryo Art Space

Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SAAS) was founded by Sunaryo and opened for the first time to public in 1998. Sunaryo who studied in ITB Bandung and Italy, exhibits his visual arts, performing arts, literature and films in this gallery.

Angkot is only available until about 6pm. Other option is to take an “ojek” from Dago Terminal (fare: Rp. 10,000 for approximately 5 minutes ride)
