Gamelan is another Indonesian traditional set of musical instruments made of bronze, wood, bamboo and iron, especially in Java and Bali islands, that have been played for many centuries. As with the angklung, people migration brought gamelan instruments overseas, such as to Malaysia and even as far as Suriname in South America.

Composed around the late 1960’s-early 1970’s by a Sundanese artist, Jaipongan is a Sundanese dance combining a Sundanese traditional martial art, Pencak Silat, with a village dance and gamelan instruments.
