Transportation to Bandung Over Land
Bandung is well connected by train services from Jakarta (Gambir station), Yogyakarta, Surabaya (Kota station), for example, with a frequent number of departures/arrivals at reasonable prices and good services. For time tables and fares please go to the Kereta Api website, the Indonesian Railways company. On its website, under "Jadwal KA" table, choose your destination ("Tujuan") and departure ("Asal") then click "TAMPILKAN".
Traveling time to/from Jakarta by Argo Gede (the Kereta Api's express train) is approximately 3 hours. To/from Surabaya, the express train Argo Wilis takes around 12 hours, inclusive of one stop in Yogyakarta. A journey from Yogyakarta to Bandung takes approximately 7 hours. In October 2015 the Indonesian government decided to build a fast train that will connect Jakarta and Bandung under 40 minutes. The government targets the train to be operational by 2019 and will cost passengers Rp. 200,000 one way.

Ticket fare for Argo Parahyangan starts from at Rp. 80,000 each way way for "Eksekutif" class or Rp. 45,000 for "Bisnis" class. Though “Bisnis” class is not airconditioned, the temperature inside the cabin is somehow acceptable. During the trip hot meals and hot drinks will be offered by the train attendants at an additional cost. You should always secure your belongings if you want to take a nap. Make sure you have all of your valued possessions with you, especially on an overnight trip.

The main train station in Bandung is located right in the heart of the city. Right after stepping out of the building, you will find plenty of taxis and other kinds of Bandung public transport, or you can even walk to many hotels nearby.
There are two main inter-state bus terminals in Bandung, Leuwipanjang (mostly from cities on the west of Bandung, such as Jakarta and cities in Sumatera island) and Cicaheum (mostly from cities on the east of Bandung, such as Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya). Local public transport within Bandung and taxis are easily available from these two terminals.
By Minibus Shuttle Service
Another option to reach Bandung is by minibuses that are operated by various companies, such as Cipaganti, CitiTrans, Day Trans, or XTrans. They have various pick up/drop off points in Jakarta and Bandung. A one-way ticket from Jakarta costs about Rp. 80,000. Currently there is no minibus shuttle service other than from Jakarta. Travelling time between the two cities is approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending your final destination and traffic conditions.
