Kemilau Sulawesi is a big event in Sulawesi (Celebes) island. This event is held in all capital cities of provinces in the island (there are 6 provinces). Festival Danau Tondano 2012
To celebrate the 584th anniversary of Minahasa, district government of Minahasa will hold “Festival Danau Tondano” or Tondano Lake Festival on 28 October to 5 November 2012. This event consists of some interesting programs, such as Minahasa cutural parade, Waraney Wulan Minahasa pigeon, Likri festival, and so on. Don’t miss it!
Trend Bridal and Make Up 2012
The House of Goen, one of the well known players in Indonesian bridal industry, is going to participate at Manado's Trend Bridal and Make Up 2012. According to Manado Post, the event will see international models from Italia, the Netherland, Brazil and Indonesia. It will be held at Manado Town Square on 7 October 2012. Pan Indo Hash 2012
Pan Indo Hash 2012 is a big event held by Manado Hush Harriers, a hash club from Manado. The event will be conducted on 5-9 September 2012 in some places in Manado. Apart of run exercise, this Pan Indo Hash Manado is a good chance for you to get more information about traditional food, dances and arts, as well as to enjoy beautiful scenery of Manado. Tomohon International Flower Festival 2012
Tomohon International Flower Festival is a great event which will be held by Tomohon city government, starting from 8 August to 12 August 2012. This international festival consists of four big events: Floral Floats Parade (8 August 2012), Flower Queen Pageant (10 August 2012), Archipelago Cultural Arts Festival (8-12 August 2012), as well as Tourism, Trade and Investment Floriculture Exhibition (8-12 August 2012). This year, Tomohon International Flower Festival will be followed by international participants, such as from North Korea, Netherland, Malaysia, France, Russia, Philippines, and Thailand, and off course from the other cities of Indonesia. Traditional Ceremony at Watu Pinawetengan
This is yearly traditional event held by Yayasan Institut Seni Budaya Sulawesi Utara (YISBSU or Institute of Arts and Cultures of North Sulawesi). The traditional ceremony will be conducted on 7 July 2012 at Watu Pinawatengan, Pinabetengan Village, Minahasa. Since 2006, the ceremony has been held to commemorate a place where Minahasans ancestors sat down and discussed about various problems faced by the 9 sub-ethnic in Minahasa. Manado Marine Diving Expo 2012
Manado Marine Diving Expo 2012 is the first marine exhibition in Manado to be held by Department of Tourism and Culture of Manado. The exhibition will be run for 5 days long, starting from 1 to 5 June 2012 at Megamas area, Manado. Apart from the marine exhibition, the other attractive programs will also be held here, such as landscape and underwater photos exhibition, diving tools and equipments, as well as miss diving pigeon contest, and so on.
Indonesia City Expo 2012
Indonesia City Expo 2012 will be held on 31 May to 4 June 2012 at Mega Mas area, Manado. This event is a part of “Musyawarah Nasional Asosiasi Pemerintah Kota Seluruh Indonesia (Munas APEKSI) 2012” or literally means National Congress of Indonesian City Governments Association 2012. Indonesia City Expo 2012 consists of some attractive programs, such as exhibition, ladies program, Indonesia culture parade, art performances, city tour, tree plantings, and so on.
The 40th Anniversary of Real Estate Indonesia in Manado
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Real Estate Indonesia (REI), some events will be held on 29-31 March 2012 in Manado, precisely at Sintesa Peninsula Hotel. Golf tournament, traditional music and dance performances, tourism visits of some interesting places in Manado, such as Woloan, Sumaru Endo, and Bukit Kasih, are some activities to be held here. The 31st ASEAN Tourism Forum 2012 in Manado
The 31st ASEAN Tourism Forum 2012, which will be held in Manado, Indonesia is themed "ASEAN Tourism for Global Community of Nations". The forum will be conducted from 8-15 January 2012 and in several places in Manado (though mostly will be held in Golden Kawanua Convention Center). This is a yearly event that involves all the tourism industry sectors of the ASEAN members, as well as China, India, Japan, Korea and Russia. Tondano Lake Festival 2011
Celebrating the Minahasa Regency anniversary, the local government will hold Festival Danau Tondano or Tondano Lake Festival in November 2011. There will be various attraction such as boat race, ornamental boat, fishing, local art performance, etc.
Celebrate The Sea Festival, North Sulawesi, 2011
Associated with the World Festival of Under Water Pictures, this festival is the biggest underwater water imagery festival in the Asia Pasific, and will be held at Sintesa Peninsula hotel on 23-25 September 2011. Manado City Anniversary
On 14 July, the city of Manado celebrates its anniversary with cultural performances, such as Maengket , Katrili and Cakalele dances. Manado, hosting Indonesia Meeting Incentive Conference Exhibition (MICE) and Corporate Travel Mart
This is a conference regarding the development of travel and accommodation for tourism and it is said that this is the largest corporate travel mart in Asia. The city of Manado was selected for hosting the 4th IMCTM event on 17-21 May 2011 because of its easy access, supports and so forth. Asean Regional Forum Disaster Relief Exercise (ARF DiREx) 2011
This international event was held in Manado on 13-19 March 2011. About 10,000 participants coming from 27 countries attended the event. This forum was lead by Indonesia and Japan. For further info please click here (available in Bahasa only).
A yearly even festival, managed by Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan (the Tourism and Culture Department) of the city of Manado. This is the time where the locals can express themselves, such as wearing traditional clothes or a group of senior citizens wearing the primary school uniforms. It is usually held at the end of January and participated by locals. In 2011, it was held on 12th February along Manado's Boulevard.
