Japanese Soldier Monument
The monument is located next to a beach that has lines of tress and plantation. It was built to honor the Japanese soldiers who died in the area during the Second World War. On the monument itself, there is a Japanese declaration that is carved on it. Visitors will also see a small Japanese soldiers burial ground next to the monument.

By public transport, "mikrolet": take the number "7" mikrolet from "Damai" terminal and ask the driver to drop you off in front of the road to "Tempat Makam Jepang" (/tém-phát mhá-khám ghe-pánk/). After passing Manggar Beach you will see a small "Tempat Makam Jepang" signboard on the right side of the road. Expect to pay Rp. 5,000. From the main road you need to walk along a small road (about 200 meters/220 yards) to reach the site or you can take an "ojek" to get there (expect to pay Rp. 5,000)
|Remarks||:||an appointment with Mr. Ibrahim before going to this place is needed, as the gate is often locked and he is the one who holds the key. He speaks only Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language).|
Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat (Monpera)
This monument is located at the seashore of Monpera Beach and surrounded by green environment. It is located in a complex that occupies an area of approximately 9,000 square meters.

By "mikrolet": take the number "6" mikrolet from "Damai" terminal and ask the driver to drop you off at the "Monpera" (/môn-phé-rhaa/).

Tanjung Pura Museum
A military museum that displays Second World War weapons, such as riffles, mortars, grenades, missiles, canons, and so forth. There are also some Japanese trumpets on display. At the entrance of the museum, visitors will see a few cannons used by the Japanese army during the Second World War.

By "mikrolet": from "Damai" terminal, take the number "5" mikrolet to "Kampung Baru Tengah" terminal. The mikrolet will pass this site and it will be on your right. You can ask the driver to drop you off in front of the museum
|Remarks||:||Mr. Mukwan is the person responsible of the museum for visits. He can be contacted one day prior to visit to arrange for an English guide. Booking in advance for a group visit is recommended.|

|Sadly the light bulbs are all smashed, the paint is peeling and it appears the sword is missing. The memorial was full of prunings and plastic garbage hat I removed o the outside of the structure and placed ono he road. Maybe the authorities will tke he refuse away?|
