Flights to Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh is accessible by air, river and land. International boat services from/to Vietnam stop in Phnom Penh, while the most common bus services on international routes to Phnom Penh are from Thailand and Vietnam.
Within Phnom Penh itself, on foot can be a good option to explore some parts of the city, if you are not time restricted. However, you need to pay extra attention whenever you want to cross any roads. At junctions, it is advisable to look around 360 degrees before crossing almost any big roads. ‘Give way to pedestrians’ does not exist here. At night it can be worst since some motorbike drivers don’t even turn on their headlights. Driving can be more challenging than walking! Unless you are so used to these kinds of traffic conditions, it would be better for you not to drive in Phnom Penh.
However, finding addresses in Phnom Penh is quite easy. Sometimes you will see restaurants or shop numbers written as "#15 " or "No. 15" and sometimes you will see "cnr of...", which means the shop is located at the corner of "street xyz" and "street abc".

Getting In and Out Of The Airport
Mini vans, taxi and Kong Bai/Tuk-tuk (see Within Phnom Penh for details of Kong Bai/Tuk-tuk) are available to take you to downtown Phnom Penh. Your taxi or Tuk-tuk will drop you anywhere in the city for a flat rate of US$ 9 or $ 5, respectively. Mini vans for big groups are also available for an extra charge.
The ticket for your mini van, taxi or Tuk-tuk can be purchased at a counter, which is located just after the international arrival terminal exit door. Domestic passengers need to walk to the international arrival terminal to get a ticket from this counter. After buying your ticket then you can proceed to the taxi or Tuk-tuk stand, which is just a few meters away.
From the city to the airport, usually people choose either taxi, which costs around $ 9 (depending on where you alight) or Tuk-tuk (about $ 5). Tuk-tuk or non-metered taxi fares/prices in the city, however, are negotiable (see Within Phnom Penh for more details). Sometimes, hotels provide pick up and/or drop off services for free, which you need to check with them directly.
Estimated travelling time from Sisowath Quay (Riverfront area) to the airport is about 25 minutes, unless there is an accident or other unexpected traffic jam, which is still a rare thing to see in Phnom Penh.
