Wisma MenumbingWisma Menumbing is an exile home of the Indonesian first President, Soekarno, during the Dutch colonial era. It is located 445 meters above sea level and was built in 1928. Bung Hatta, the first Indonesian Vice President, and other national figures, such as Mr. Assa’at, Komodor Suryadarma, and AG. Pringgodigdo were also exiled there from 22 December 1948 to 6 July 1949.

Location : Menumbing Hill, Mentok sub-district, West Bangka
Operational hours : it is suggested to visit before sunset since it is poorly lit
Admission fee : Rp. 1,000/person, Rp. 3,000/car, Rp. 2,000/motorcycle
How to get there : By private transportation or car rental
By angkot: take an angkot to Muntok/Mentok from Pangkalpinang and get off at the Menumbing junction. From there, take an ojek to the hill, costs Rp. 50,000. Ojeks only operate until 6pm. However, it is suggested to take own transportation or car rental because of the poor road conditions
Remarks : the road is not in good conditions. Don’t wear your shoes when entering the house.
