Balubur Shopping Center

Balubur Shopping Centre is a one stop shopping center consists of a variety of tenants, such as clothing, shoes, electronic products, and many more. Some merchants in this shopping center are derived from the Balubur traditional market, which was closed by the local government. Similar to “the old Balubur”, the new Balubur also offers office and school stationery items: paper, paper clips, pen, pencil, book, and so forth.

Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP)

Bandung Indah Plaza was established in 1999. It is one of the oldest modern shopping center and located in downtown Bandung. This mall is said to be the mall with the highest number of visitors in West Java for almost 20 years by the Indonesia Shopping Center Management Association of West Java province in 2010. Currently it has about 230 tenants and recorded one million customer traffics monthly.

Bandung Electronic Center (BEC)

Founded in 2002, Bandung Electronic Center is located in a strategic area, between north Bandung and downtown Bandung. BEC is the first electronic mall in Bandung and sells a wide range of electronic gadgets, such as hand-phones, computers, notebooks, netbooks, as well as accessories, and so on.

BTC Fashion Mall

As its name suggests, BTC Fashion Mall offers mostly (almost 70%) fashion products, such as clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, scrafs, and so on. Founded in 2003, BTC Fashion Mall occupies an area of 13,000 square meters and today has 600 tenants. Apart from that, it also has music course and music therapy for children with autism.

Cihampelas Walk (CiWalk)

Cihampelas Walk was founded in 2005. This is a shopping mall in Bandung that adapts an “open air shopping mall" concept. The open air space have trees and chairs or benches for visitors to rest. From one building to another, visitors can walk through the skywalk and enjoy the scenery from this small bridge. Cihampelas Walk has also a hotel (Sensa Hotel), which opened in late November 2009.

Remarks : one month of calendar events is available at the information center (on “LG” floor). Jalan Cihampelas is usually crowded everyday.

Dago Plaza

Dago Plaza was founded in 2002 and positions itself as an “entertainment plaza” with a few 24-hour outdoor cafes.

Festival Citylink is a shopping center/mall in south Bandung that has been established since 2010. The mall occupies an area of 54,000 meter square. Festival Citylink has five floors and often visited by middle-up class families. They often hold monthly events (you can see the calender of events in information center, which is located next to the entrance gate).

Remarks : the mall usually will be crowded on weekends.

Istana Plaza

Istana Plaza is located near Bandung train station. It is a mall that often visited by local residents, especially from upper middle class families. Istana Plaza has a wide range of clothings, food, entertainment, and so on.

Pasar Baru

An old market open since the mid 1800’s and was renovated in 2001 into a modern shopping center. The market can be very crowded by both visitors and traders. It can be a little bit challenging to find men's shirts since 75% of the sellers sell mostly women's clothes.

How to get there : from Bandung train station, take an angkot that goes to Gedebage and get off behind Pasar Baru (fare: Rp. 2,000 for a 10-minute journey). From there continue a short distance through Jalan Pasar Barat) to the main door entrance of Pasar Baru (it takes less than 5 minutes walk)
Remarks : this is a famous shopping center for locals, as well as tourists from neighbouring countries, instead of going to Jalan Cihampelas, for one good reason - cheaper prices. You need to bargain hard to get a really good price and usually they do wholesales. Apart from clothing, there are also many stalls selling local food, such as Bandung style crackers and so on. Some tenants accept credit and debit cards payment. Jalan Pasir Kaliki, Jalan Kebon Jati, and Jalan Otto Iskandardinata are usually crowded everyday. Be aware of pickpockets. There is a traditional market in the basement.

Paris van Java Mall

Paris van Java (PVJ) is “an open air resort of lifestyle, fashion, dining, entertainments, and sports” with many European and Mediterranean architecture buildings concept. This “mall” occupies an area of 60,000 square meters and awarded “the most favorites mall outside Jakarta” by Indonesia Tourism Award in 2011. PVJ is well known among foreign tourists, such as from Malaysia, Europe, Japan, Korea, and domestic tourists.

Visitors will enjoy a beautiful scenery of flying doves or peacocks while shopping or walking along the pedestrian walk inside the mall on every weekend on the afternoon. Apart from that, it also has a 600 square meters breeding house full of birds, butterflies, and peacocks on the rooftop floor. The breeding house opens daily with admission fee Rp. 20,000. Visitors are suggested to visit on the daylight because the birds flocks at the top of the cage in afternoon.

Located on the same area is a farm full of sheeps, guinea pigs, cow, and rabbits. It open from 10am until 6pm on weekdays and 10am until 9pm on weekends, with an admission fee of Rp. 50,000. Do not forget to visit "Paris van Java Garden" on the roof floor to see a wide range of beautiful ornamental plants.

Continue by taking the “Karang Setra-Cibaduyut” or “Karang Setra-Kalapa” angkot and get off right in front of the mall (fare: Rp. 2,000 and takes only 5 minutes)
Remarks : this Wi-Fi enabled shopping mall is famous for its open air cafes and restaurants, and Paris van Java Mall is one of most well known malls especially for visitors from Jakarta. There is a very bad traffic jam next to the mall usually, just after office hours because of a narrow road, lots of cars, plus a local market nearby. To avoid traffic jam, you might park your own car or motorcycle at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital, which is located at about 800 meters south of PVJ.

Pasteur Hyper Point

Pasteur Hyper Point (PHP) is a family shopping mall that is located in a strategic location, about 300 meters after the Padalarang toll gate (via Pasteur). This mall offers many kinds of entertainments, culinary, hobbies, and so on.

Unlike other malls in Bandung, PHP and the local government provides a public service facility for West Java residents to renew their driving licenses, which is located within Pasteur Hyper Point area.

Juanda take the one that goes in the “Kalapa-Dago” line and tell the driver to drop you off at Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) (fare: Rp. 2,000). Then continue on foot to “Balai Kota Bandung” (or Bandung city hall) and take an angkot that goes in the “Gunung Batu” direction and stop right in front of the mall (fare: Rp. 3,000)
Remarks : PHP has regular events, such as animal contests and exhibitions, batik, furniture, held every 3-4 months.

Setrasari Mall

Setrasari Mall is actually a complex of shops, which consists of supermarket, shops and a few offices, such as law firm office, karaoke, and many more.

Trans Studio Mall (TSM)

Trans Studio Mall is used to be known as Bandung Supermal. This family oriented shopping mall launched their new name on 2 June 2012. Trans Studio Mall occupies an area of 80,000 square meters. It has a 32-lane Universal Bowling Alley, billiard arena, cinema with 5 screens in THX system, and so forth.

In 2009, Bandung Supermal food court awarded The Best Service Excellence Award in category Food Center by MarkPlus, a well known market research company.
