After about a hundred years of vanishing from the local fashion, this typically Minahasan woven cotton has become popular again in recent years and is even being promoted nationally in Indonesia. Out of the 28 original "Kain Tenun Bentenans" that are kept in some countries, only a few of them are kept in the National Museum in Jakarta.

Among the seven motives of woven and/or printed Bentenan cotton, there are four kinds of motives that are currently used: "Kaiwu Patola", "Pinatikan-Bantik", "Koffo Sangihe Talaud", and "Sinoi" motives. Each of the motives represent four of the nine tribes in Minahasa.

The price for this Kain Tenun Bentenan (woven) starts from Rp. 700,000, while for the printed Kain Tenun Bentenan price varies from Rp. 50,000 to Rp. 150,000 per meter.
