Many restaurants, warungs and rumah makans in Toraja, especially in Rantepao do not accept electronic payments at all, so be ready with cash in hand. However, since food is relatively cheap, you do not have to worry about keeping millions of rupiahs in your wallet. Though liquors are often not sold, some of sellers might sell beers. Tipping is not a common practice and generally not required, unless you are happy to do so. Some restaurants apply a service charge, normally up to a maximum of 10%.
