Land Transportation

Apart from the air, Padang can be reached by land too, such as by interstate or intercity bus services from within Sumatera Island: Medan (North Sumatera), Palembang (South Sumatera), and so on, or even from Java Island. However, currently the main interstate bus terminal is being redeveloped and unfortunately, there is no alternative or temporary official terminal is set up. Hence, some local travellers take the option of taking smaller shuttle buses or travel buses, such as Lorena (see more information below). These smaller buses usually pick up and drop off passengers from their own offices.
