Local Arts and Souvenir Shops

Common souvenirs from Phnom Penh or Cambodia are silk, silver products, statues and other wood handicrafts. It is believed that silk was introduced to Cambodia in the early days of the ancient Angkorian era. Silk products can be purchased right from the producers, such as in Mekong Island, or from boutiques, shops or local markets.

Statues are mostly made of sandstone originating from within Cambodia. These statues and silver products can be purchased from local markets, shops or boutiques. For gold lovers, there are many shops around the Central Market selling gold products.
