Air Transportation to Siem Reap
Air Transportation | Land Transportation | River Transportation | Within Phnom Penh
Siem Reap is accessible by air, river and land. Boats from/to Vietnam stop in Phnom Penh then tourists can continue with local ferries, while bus services on international routes come mostly from Thailand.
Within Siem Reap itself, travelling on foot is a good option to explore the city, if you are not time restricted, thanks to its relatively small size city and street names are using numbers, just like in Phnom Penh. However, when crossing any road, it is advisable to carefully look around you, because motorbikes or bicycles may appear from any direction. "Give way to pedestrians" does not exist here.
Tuk-tuk or locally known as Remork is the most favourite and common method of transport. See Within Siem Reap for more information on public transport available there.

Domestic Flights
The Phnom Penh-Siem Reap sector is well served by air transport and currently flown by one airline, Cambodia Angkor Air, using its turboprop ATR 42. The flight takes only about 55 minutes of flying time and the air fare starts from around US$ 55 one way. For the latest offers please check with the respective airlines.
Getting In and Out Of The Airport
Cars, minivans, and motorbikes are available to take you to downtown Siem Reap. You taxi (private car) or motorbike will drop you anywhere in the city for a flat rate of US$ 7 or $ 2, respectively. Mini vans for big groups are also available ($ 10).
Tickets for your transport can be purchased at a counter, which is located just after the international arrival terminal exit door. Domestic passengers need to walk to the international arrival terminal to get a ticket from this counter.
From the city to the airport, usually travelers can take Tuk-tuk or known locally as Remork, which costs around $ 5 to $ 7. Certain hotels or guesthouses provide pick up and/or drop off services for free, which you need to check with them directly.
Estimated travelling time from an area around the Old Market or Pub Street to the airport (and vice versa) is about 15 to 20 minutes, unless there is an accident or other unexpected traffic jam, which is still a rare thing to see in Siem Reap.
