Common souvenirs from Siem Reap or Cambodia are silk, silver, statue and wood handicrafts. It is believed that silk was introduced in Cambodia in the early days of the ancient Angkorian era. Silk products can be purchased right from the producers, from boutiques, shops or local markets.

Institute for Khmer Traditional Textiles (IKTT)

IKTT was founded by Mr. Kikuo Morimoto, a Japanese, in 1996. He grew his own mulberry trees and created "a silk village" near Siem Reap.

Own by Stephane Delapree, who was born in Paris, Stef Happy Painting sells contemporary Cambodian art. In 1995 Stef received a letter from Norodom Sihanouk, the former King of Cambodia, thanking him for his contribution to contemporary Cambodian art.

Travelers with kids perhaps should visit this place if they need a break from the temples. There is a play ball area, arcade games and many other things for kids, as well as a supermarket and fast food restaurants.

One of the well known markets for foreign tourists, there are plenty of goods for sale, from souvenirs to wet market and local dishes restaurants with very decent prices along Street 9 (north end of the market).

Sarom Angkor Market

Not just selling similar goods to the Old Market above, Sarom Angkor Market is also located just across the street (Street 11).
