Tourist Information | Travel Agents

In Rantepao, travel agents and tourist information service have almost similar functions, where tourists can get information about transportation, motorbike/car rental, places of interest, tour packages, and so forth. The only official tourist information center in Rantepao is run by the local government’s Tourism Department, which is located in Jalan Ahmad Yani.

Remarks	:	staffs speaking English, German, Japan, and French are available
How to get there	:	take sitor/ojek from Jalan Mappanyukki, the driver will drop you about 200 meters before the office, since sitor/ojek is not allowed to pass through the office. Expect to pay Rp. 3,000.

Indosella Office Information

Location	:	it is located in the same building as “Riman” restaurant

Remarks	:	Indosella has a few rafting and trecking packages. Please visit their office or contact them to make the arrangement.They can also arrange for car rentals and tour guides. Price starts from Rp. 350,000 for a day car rental (fuel and driver included) and Rp. 350,000 for a tour guide (English or French).

Remarks	:	other services available: laundry, rental car and motorcycle (car rental – minivan is Rp. 300,000/day, includes a guide. Motorbikes can be hired for 8 hours).

Travel Agents

You can find easily travel agents since they are mostly located close to each other along Jalan Mappanyukki in Rantepao. They mostly sell long distance bus tickets from Rantepao to other cities, such as Makassar, Palu and so on.

Batutumonga Travel

Remarks	:	it sells airplane, ships, and bus tickets. As for the bus, it departs at 7am from Rantepao to Makassar, while from Makassar, it departs at 8am, 9am, 8pm and 10 pm (bus fares: Rp. 80,000 for a bus equipped with AC or Rp. 60,000 for non AC bus).

Plangi Travel

Remarks	:	it sells airplane and bus tickets, tour packages and provides guides. AC equipped bus fare to Makassar (and vice versa) is Rp 60,000 and depart at 8am and 7pm from Makassar and Rantepao.

Rajawali Travel

Remarks	:	airplane, ship and bus tickets, tour packages and car rentals (Rp. 300,000/day for a minivan). Bus fare from Makassar to Toraja and vice versa: Rp. 80,000 (aircond bus) or Rp. 60,000 (non AC bus). The bus departs at 7pm from Makassar and Rantepao.

Rappan Maranu travel

Remarks	:	bus tickets from Rantepao to Palu, Kendari and Burako. Fare for aircond-bus to Palu: Rp. 160,000 (Rp. 150,000 for non AC bus) and departs at 9am. Non airconditioned bus to Kendari: Rp. 200,000 and departs at 7am from Rantepao; AC and non AC bus to Burako: Rp. 80,000 and departs at 8am.
